02During the monthly member tour, our association led members to "Siemens".-The Taichung branch was visited and exchanged ideas.
We visited the Siemens Digital Experience Center and witnessed the latest applications of machine tool digitization and smart manufacturing. Throughout the visit, Siemens presented four main themes:Digital twins, edge computing,artificial intelligenceMachine Tools and Energy Sustainability.

existDigital twinsIn part, Siemens...RMVM / OperateConstructedCNCThe virtual platform is impressive. It can fully simulate the machining process of a five-axis milling machine, a mill-turn turner, and a grinding machine, and complete program verification, collision prevention, and machining time estimation in a virtual environment. Observations show that this not only speeds up the development process and reduces pilot production risks, but also improves the uptime of physical equipment, fully demonstrating the substantial help that digital twins provide to on-site manufacturing.
Edge computingThis is another highlight. It's driven by real-time monitoring in the system.IGBTBy combining component stress and temperature with high-frequency data analysis, operators can monitor equipment health in real time and prevent potential failures. This transparent monitoring approach makes predictive maintenance more feasible and improves equipment stability.
existartificial intelligencemachine toolsIn terms of application,ACMAdaptive cutting technology fully demonstrates the potential of intelligent machining. The system monitors the cutting load in real time and automatically adjusts machining parameters, protecting the tool while shortening machining time and improving efficiency, which is especially valuable for unmanned machining.
at last,Energy sustainabilityThis is also one of the key points of the visit. By integrating energy data from machine to enterprise level through an energy management platform, enterprises can effectively grasp energy usage and balance production capacity with sustainable development needs, which is especially important in today's manufacturing industry that pursues high efficiency and low carbon emissions.
