May 11, 2013 [TYSIA Business Visit Day Trip] – 3M Yangmei Technical Center

The long-awaited TYSIA Business Visit Day Trip has finally arrived! In the morning, the founding chairman, directors, supervisors, conveners, and members of our association gathered in high spirits and boarded a tour bus together. We strolled through the "Hakka Cultural and Creative Park" to enjoy its artistic and retro charm, and then enjoyed the local specialties at "Da Yangmei Goose Village Hakka Cuisine." Finally, we headed to our destination!

3M, originally named Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Company ("3M" is an abbreviation of this name), was founded in 1902 by five founders in Twin Harbor, Minnesota, USA. In 1969, 3M established a subsidiary in Taiwan, "Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Taiwan Co., Ltd." Currently, 3M has 136 factories and over 67,000 employees worldwide, with offices in 197 countries, and its global revenue exceeds US$20 billion!

This was a rare opportunity to visit a world-renowned company that has stood the test of time for over a century, showcasing thousands of diverse products, from industrial manufacturing and healthcare to everyday consumer goods. Through its practices in environmental protection, corporate social responsibility, and economic development, 3M makes a tangible contribution to global sustainable development. 3M's use of technology to improve people's lives is truly admirable!

We thank our colleagues from all relevant departments at 3M for their detailed briefings and introductions, Jingkai Trading Co., Ltd. for facilitating this wonderful opportunity, and our founding chairman Huang Yaode, secretary-general Chen Zhenghong, and other directors and supervisors for accompanying us on the visit, making the event even more enriching and successful.
