Dust Collection Equipment Description

In general industrial processes, equipment for controlling particulate matter can be categorized into five types: gravity settling dust collectors, cyclone dust collectors, bag filters, electrostatic precipitators, and wet scrubbers. For different pollutants and emission conditions, the most suitable method must be considered to meet both economic efficiency and environmental protection requirements, as explained below.

1. Gravity settling type: This is a type of expansion type, used to remove large particles with a diameter of 40-60um or larger. It is mostly used as a pretreatment device and is not widely used in the market.
2. Cyclone dust collector: Used to remove particles larger than 5μm in diameter. It is suitable for coarse dust, high-concentration dust, or when the dust removal efficiency requirement is not high. It is often used as a pretreatment device for bag dust collectors and electrostatic dust collectors.
3. Baghouse dust collectors are one of the most commonly used types of dust collectors. They are highly efficient at removing particles smaller than 1µm and are suitable for applications requiring high dust removal efficiency, economically viable dust recovery, exhaust gas temperatures that can be reduced to below 200 degrees Celsius, or dust that is not sticky.
4. Electrostatic precipitators: Similar to bag filters, they have high removal efficiency for particles smaller than 1μm. They are suitable for applications requiring high dust removal efficiency, economically viable dust recovery, and high-temperature exhaust gas dust removal (where the exhaust gas and dust are not explosive).
5. Wet scrubbers: These devices utilize liquids that do not contain particulates or harmful gases. However, they are not very efficient at removing particles smaller than 1µm. They are suitable for situations where exhaust gases need to be cooled, combustible and explosive dusts are present, or when both dust and gaseous pollutants need to be removed simultaneously. This equipment produces sludge and wastewater, so maintenance costs must be considered.
