Equipped with high-precision, high-speed non-contact tool setting and tool breakage detection, the NC4 is suitable for vertical and horizontal machining centers, multi-functional machining centers, and gantry machining centers of various sizes. The NC4 enables rapid non-contact tool setting and tool breakage detection on various multi-functional machining centers.
Non-contact tool setting systems utilize a laser beam transmitted between a transmitter and receiver. The system is integrated within the machine tool, allowing the cutting tool to be positioned via the laser beam, providing information on tool dimensions. These systems can also be used to measure geometry and detect tool breakage. They utilize the NCI-6 interface within the NC4 range. Combined with macro software cycling, their dual-weight measurement mode ensures shorter cycle times and robust measurement performance under humid conditions.
Renishaw's NC4 adds faster, more precise tooling setup to the process and is easier to understand. During machining processes, dimensional accuracy depends on variables including tool size deviation, tool/tool holder runout, and tool breakage.
The NC4 (integrated blade chip blower) series is divided into F115+, F145+, F230, and F300, and is further divided into two types: straight cable and connector type.
